Role/Responsibilities
- The Solution Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical support in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms.
- Additionally, the Solution Architect will be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for solutioning end-to-end architecture, including AWS / GCP and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management.
- Develop a library of deployable and documented solution design patterns, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud.
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
- Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred. In addition, 10 or more years' experience in designing large and complex IT operations in large organizations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
- Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
- Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
- Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
- Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
- Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk.
- Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations Cloud Architect Cloud & DevOps Duties & Responsibilities.
- Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
- Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
- Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and system.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- 14 + years of experience including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
- Experience as a team lead preferred.
- Experience with AWS / GCP and VMWare enterprise implementations.
- Knowledge of all components with technical architecture along with exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
- Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client / server system.
Pay Range in California
Base Salary: $150k + bonus structure
In addition, this position qualifies for benefits like health insurance, paid time off (PTO), 401(K). Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and/or to comply with federal or state law.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Ability to create and effectively deliver technology solution presentations to address specific customer needs.
- Broad understanding of various technologies and frameworks across all architecture tiers.
- Solid command on cloud services such as but not limited to, IAM, security, storage, data migration, integration etc.
- Experience in creating detailed solution architecture views.
- working knowledge of on-premises/cloud-based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, Agile, and deployments/configurations
- Definition/evangelism of best practices and standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions meeting complex business requirements addressing various integration scenarios and supporting business case justification to C-level executives.
- Experience driving technical workshops with technical and business clients to drive value added services and implementations.
- Ability to travel to address customer needs, focused within region.
